Match Report
Sunday august 30th,
lymm 22 v caldy 16
Lymm continued their impressive pre season campaign with a fine victory against Caldy in the quarter final of the Cheshire Cup. Lymm will now play in the semi final for the first time in many years.
Caldy, from National League 1 should be forgiven playing a few fringe and 2nd team players but would be still be firm favourites. However Lymm, with tries from Luke Johnston, Sion Williams, Captain Fletcher and Mike Swetman, with one conversion from Joe Knowles, secured the win.
All the more impressive was the fact that the bulk of the team had been “enjoying” Wembley the previous day. Captain Fletcher felt the result was “not bad considering we were on the lash yesterday….some good performances” Coach Kinsey said “decent game. We didn’t get much space but pre season has been pleasing. A good chance to blood young players and to give us the platform in our first league game next week”
The first league game is at Liverpool St Helens next Saturday.
