Cameron,
Thanks for piece on the website re Sen Colts.
Confession though, I got the maths wrong too - points for should be 620 and points difference 460. If you could amend that would be great.

Note from webby - no wonder the country's in such a mess!!

TWO OUT OF THREE AIN'T BAD !
Lymm Senior Colts emerged from a brutal eight days of rugby as Cheshire and Northern champions. With bad weather forcing the re-arrangement of the Raging Bull Colts League Cup final, the team faced three finals in eight days.
They started on the Sunday with the Cheshire Cup Final ( last won by a Lymm team in 1981). Facing a recently strengthened and very large Sandbach side they triumphed 27 v 18 in a bruising encounter at Crouchley Lane. The game was a thriller that entertained the large crowd present, but took a toll on the side with Henry Bellis and Greg Robertson being injured and unable to play in the next final.
Celebrations were short and sweet as the lads had another final just 24 hours later, when they faced Rossendale in the League Cup at Eccles. Rossendale had knocked Lymm's main rivals this season, Manchester, out of the Lancashire Cup, and carried with them a good reputation. The Lancashire side proved this reputation was well deserved and confronted the Lymm lads with another highly physical contest. This was an intriguing contrast of styles with the lead changing hands throughout. Lymm thought they had won the game with a late try from Zak Preston but the referee decided he had been held up and controversially disallowed it. Despite a final score of 20 v 20, Rossendale prevailed due to try count back.
Lymm at that point had lost two trophies this season despite only actually losing one game !! ( they lost the league title despite having the better points difference due to victors Manchester having aggregated 5 more points in the two league matches between the sides).
The following Sunday saw a determined and hurting coach load of players head to Fleetwood to face Yorkshire champions Old Brodleians in the Cock o' the North Final. This match was to prove just as demanding and exciting as the other two. Gale force winds ensured that Lymm's usual expansive game would have to be adapted, and it was not until the last twenty minutes or so that the team sorted out how to play effectively. A commitment to running through phases saw the Cheshire boys claw back the Yorkshire sides slim lead and Tim Young snatch a score with just four minutes remaining to ensure the trophy stayed at Beechwood for a second successive year.
The Senior Colts finished with the following record for the season.
COLTS LEAGUE A - Runners Up
CHESHIRE CUP - Winners
LEAGUE CUP - Runners Up
COCK O' NORTH - Winners
Played 20
Won 18
Drawn 1
Lost 1
For 593
Against 166
Difference
427
Many thanks to Fletch, Olli and John for the fine coaching they have provided the boys this year, and to our sterling band of parents.
Also to Bentleys and Johnson Group for their kit sponsorships.
The Colts Academy has now amassed 2 Cock o North Cups, 2 Cheshire Cups, 2 League Cups, 1 League Championship, 2 League Runners up, and 1 each Cheshire Cup and League Cup runners up - all this in two seasons !
A RESPONSE FROM ANDY LEACH!!
Great piece but a bit woeful on the maths. Per Raging Bull League stats and Wardy's scores on the website (plus including Anselmians w/o as a win) I make it:
Played 21
Won 19
Drawn 1
Lost 1
For 720
Against 160
Difference 560

Senior Colts League Cup Final
The Senior Colts narrowly failed in their attempt to bring home 2 Cups in 2 days, being held 20-20 by Rossendale in the Senior Colts Raging Bull League Cup Final today. The Cup was awarded to Rossendale by virtue of tries scored.

cheshire junior finals - a big day for lymmrfc
It was a highly successful day for Lymm teams in yesterday's Cheshire Junior Finals. Our U12s retained the Cheshire Cup with a 42-0 victory over Wilmslow; our U14s retained the Cheshire Bowl with a 25-0 win against Chester; our U15s made it 4 Cheshire Cups in a row by prevailing in an 8-7 "nailbiter" over Macclesfield; whilst our U16s failed to convert their previous Cheshire Plate wins into a Cheshire Bowl victory, losing that final to Altrincham Kersal. Finally, and significantly, our Senior Colts won their Cup final 27-18 against Sandbach retaining the Cup they won last season and becoming the first Lymm team since 1981 to hold the Cheshire Senior Colts Cup - hopefully this win will help ease their aching bones and muscles into today's Raging Bull League Cup Final against Rossendale.

thank you
I'd just like to thank everyone who played a part in the very successful day we had at Beechwood yesterday when hosting the Cheshire Colts Finals. Four excellent, competitive matches were watched by an appreciative crowd in magnificent surroundings and, thankfully, very pleasant rugby weather and conditions. I have already received the thanks and appreciation of the participating teams and Cheshire RFU for putting on such a well organised event. So thanks to Jim and his grounds team; Rick and his staff; Tony and his team of stewards; Dave and Liam for the programme; Malcolm for looking after the teams and referees; David "the voice of the balls" Millachip; and anyone else that I have forgotten.
Thanks.

Some re-scheduling of visits
Bosh is continuing to make stunning progress, as I witnessed today when visiting with Lionel.

With this improvement in mind, it is hoped that Bosh can now start spending weekends at home. He and Antonia have therefore asked me to blank out Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays on the visiting schedule.
Because of this change, visiting on Thursday afternoons has now been opened up.
A specific request from Antonia
"We are finding that people have stopped using the schedule to book visits. As it's a long way to go we don't want people to have a wasted journey -visiting when alex isn't there or having a number of people arrive at the same time - which is happening".
Hope this is all clear for you all

Dinner with the Bennett's
Following a fantastic couple of days training and hard work there was a lot to celebrate when JC and Colette met up with Bosh and Antonia for dinner on Tuesday night. During a gym session earlier in the day the Big Man had taken a few steps along the parallel bars, use your imagination!. Yet another target set and met!!! Bosh was on great form and demolished the biggest plate of Piri Piri Chicken imaginable - I pity the poor nurses!!! On returning to the unit Bosh demonstrated yet another new trick, transferring himself unaided from his wheelchair into his bed, long may this positive improvement continue! We expect to see Bosh around the village at weekends in the future as he will be coming home to visit his children and is planning to be at the Club Dinner at the Lymm Hotel in a couple of weeks' time. 16/05/2012 - JC & Colette

an email from london welsh - for which, our grateful thanks.
Hiya Tosh
Just to let you know we hosted the London Celts (ex London welsh players) annual Ball at the end of march and have historically had wooden spoon as our charitable sponsor. But with the Alex’s recent accident, and as we do consider him one of our own as an ex LW player and “Red Herring”, we have advised the Spoon that we will split the donation this year and so be able to make a contribution to Alex’s recovery (which by the pictures from Botts look amazingly positive!!)
We all hope this small contribution helps in some way and we all wish you, alex and the kids the best over the coming months….surely a great focus for Bosh will be to make the Red Herring Christmas lunch in London…….that being said with his mental strength and recovery he could be ready for the summer outing!!!!
Please let me know the bank details and I will transfer the funds across asap
Take care and all the best to you all from every ex London Welsh/Celt/RH “member”
All the best

ruley encore
Another fantastic week for Bosh. Again he has shown great determination and single-mindedness. He is now managing to move from wheelchair to bed totally unaided and without needing a board to slide along. He can also move from chair to his own car, which meant that he was able to go home on Saturday. It was a day visit but it may not be too long before he will be allowed to stay overnight.
He has lots of physio and OT support. Whilst he is in the pool he has been standing, and taking steps forward, backwards and to the side. However the biggest achievement this week came on Thursday as he walked up the steps that lead out of the pool. He was holding on to the rail, and the water gave him a level of support but as he climbed to the top that support diminished so it was stunning progress.
Each week Alex is surprising all of the medical staff as he defeats every challenge they give him. We keep waiting for the 'plateau' to arrive but it certainly hasn't happened yet,
Steve

a hello from Antonia
Hi all
Just to let you know about the most incredible day today. In fact, it's been a very big week.
Tonight I watched Alex transfer himself from his wheelchair to his bed and then lie himself down completely unaided. Which means the end of the awful hoist for getting in and out of his chair and bed. It also means independent trips to the bathroom and the ability to get into bed whenever he wants!
He also took some steps in the pool using the parallel bars and then in a later session stood for the first time on his own two feet on dry land.
As usual he's working until he's worn out but he's still making such great progress that I think you'll all be amazed when you next see him.
Hoping to get him out for a home visit later in May which we are all desperately longing for.
Lots of love to you all.
A x

some words from jason cundick
I am still continuing in my distance running quest to raise money for Bosh & his chosen charities. I have just been out for a gentle 3.6mile amble two days after running the longest, coldest, wettest & windyest run of my life so far. I completed the Greater Manchester Marathon in 3hours 54mins 7sec in conditions where seasoned marathon runners said it was a real achievement to finish without hypothermia! Not bad for someone who signed up on 1st April. I am still collecting as I feel the amount I have so far does not reflect the effort & I could not get any media interest to help me out. Thanks to Holmsey for providing a cheer that helped me climb out of the subway in the last mile & push for a 'sprint' finish.

I visited on Friday and continue to be inspired by Bosh's positivity and progress.
He has moved down the corridor to a 'lower dependancy' ward and has hit some of his 6 week targets in the first week!
His major focus now is on moving from bed to chair to bed without the use of the hoist. Once he can master that he may be able to stay overnight at home, which will be wonderful for Antonia and especially William, Elizabeth and Thomas.
He has much 'finer' control of his arm and leg movements and been able to stand unaided in the pool for the first time.
